What a Gorgeous Weekend!

We finally had a weekend this month where we had absolutely nothing planned! There was a crawfish boil, but opted not to go this year.

Friday evening we did absolutely nothing!

Saturday - we slept in until about 10am and woke up to a gorgeous, yet cold and windy morning! That part didn't get me down though. I had the urge to mow the lawn! Don't ask, I have no clue, it was just such a beautiful morning and I loooovveee the way a freshly mowed and edged lawn looks on a crystal clear day! Well, ends up I mowed one strip and let James take over the rest! I just watched and picked up trash and sticks in the yard. After we were done I was compelled to get ALL the Christmas decorations piled in the office put in the attic! Yep, thats right...they have been sitting there for over three months now! I felt VERY accomplished after that! Later that evening my brother and his wife invited us over (2 houses down) for supper. We had 'Grasshoppers', jalepenos with cream cheese wrapped in chicken breasts and bacon, baked potatos, and baked beans, and to drink (for me) cranberry juice :) It sure was yummy!! We sat around oustide for awhile and talked and watched their dog, Jarhead, be a goofball and play with James. Afterwards, James and I went home to watch Twilight. I really enjoyed it, but of course no where near as good as the book!

Sunday - We started on BRADEN'S room!! We woke up, we put everything which was in the babies room into the office, and then headed off to Babies R Us to buy the wall border for the sports theme that we have decided to use.

Here is a picture of it from the website,
and is similar to how it will look!

We stopped off at Victor's to fill up our tummy's because we knew we would work up an appetite as soon as we started! Then, we took the border to Sherwin Williams and where we matched up the blue in the border to some beautiful navy blue paint! We got home and started right off....James tapped everything up with plastic, I used the level to draw a line around the room where to paint and where to stop for the border, and we began painting! I only did the outline and James came back through and painted all the walls! We finally got through at about 8pm and will put a final coat on this evening, and hang the border up tomorrow! (Pictures coming soon!)

I think we are both super excited to meet our little guy! It was so much fun for us both! I believe James even skipped to the room when we first started, LOL!

Anyway, I hope everyone else had just as good of a weekend as we did! And, I'll post some pictures as soon as I can!

Have a good week!

Friday's Doctor Appointment

Well, we are well on our way with this pregnancy, and I am currently 16 weeks 3 days pregnant. Friday's doctors appointment went great!! I got to hear the heartbeat, which was 155, very healthy & strong! Blood pressure was wonderful and I had gained 4 lbs since my last appointment in February. If I continue to gain like I have been then we are looking at about 35 lbs total that I will gain. I would be okay with that. My goal is no more than 40, but realistically I'd like to keep it no more than 35. I also had to do MORE blood work. This caught me by surprise just because I thought maybe I'd get a break at this appointment, but she promised me that my next appointment there would be no blood work done. Friday's blood work was to check for spinal deficiencies and my next blood work will be done at 24 weeks.

Okay, so I know everyone is waiting for an answer to the BIG question....."WHEN DO WE GET TO FIND OUT THE SEX?" Welllll.....my next regular appointment is scheduled for April 10th (4 weeks), BUT she offered if I would like to, to come back in just 2 weeks to find out the sex of the baby!!!!! WOOOHOOOO!!! March 26th, here we come!!!!!! BOY or GIRL, that is the question!?!?! Are your predictions right or wrong? We will soon find out next Thursday!

Prayer Request

I know some of you might have already received an email, but I figured I would also post it here on my blog for those of you who did not.

This weekend I was informed that my Grandpa Jacks, my mom's dad, aka "Papaw" was diagnosed with Prostate Cancer this past week. He is going back to the doctor today to discuss the different treatments that would be best for him and at his age. I believe they have caught it at Stage 3 and Stage 4. I don't know much about this kind of cancer, but I do know he is a strong man who needs our support and strong faith right now.

Please help our family pray for his health and recovery from this cancer.

Thank you so much!

The Bachelor
After The Final Rose, Part II

My final thoughts on this season......

First, I am disappointed in who the new bachelorette is going to be. I know they hinted on the "Girls Tell All" episode that it could possibly be Jillian, but after all that happened with Melissa, I really felt like she deserved the chance at finding love more than Jillian.

Second, it seems to me like Jason and Molly are truly happy for now and I wish them the best of luck and I have 6 words for them both, "I HOPE IT WAS WORTH IT!"

Third, I am totally over this season of the Bachelor and ready for my absolute favorite reality show......BIG BROHTER! Now that is the ultimate reality ;) hehehe.

The Bachelor
After The Final Rose

What a crazy "The Bachelor" lastnight! My thoughts at first was I was very upset that Melissa did not get chosen for the long run! I felt sooooo bad for her! Can you imagine what she was feeling when he said, "Hey, I can't be with you anymore because I can't stop daydreaming of Molly!?" I did love both girls, but always was leaning more towards Melissa, I guess I'm a little biasis for many reasons....her name, she's a Texas girl, she was fun & goofy, but Molly was also a very sweet girl! I was so mad at Jason, but after Molly came out and he told her how he felt, I think she handled herself very well. She asked "what about Melissa" before anything else, and although she obviously still cared for him so much I think she was respectful towards all parties involved and that made me accept the whole situation much more. They truly did look like they had been waiting years for each other and really looked happy. I actually think this could be a couple we hear about for years to come that might just stay together.......we'll see. My heart goes out to Melissa and I hope she finds her one true love.

On another note. Its Tuesday yall! And, theres 5 more days until my birthday! Yippeee!! I plan on getting my haircut and hilighted Saturday and maybe treat myself to a pedicure! Saturday night we have rodeo tickets to see Trace Adkins, and Sunday (my birthday), I think I plan making it a day with tons of R & R and my jammies! :)

New with me. I'm gaining more weight! I tried putting on a pair of jeans that I have been able to wear with the button unbuttoned this morning and I couldn't get them over my buttocks! I ran to the scale (because I had decided to wait to weigh again until next weeks doctor's appt), and it showed I'd gained about 3 lbs!! Oh, lord! Hopefully, that is my belly growing and not just my butt, but maybe I should lay off the chocolate milk for awhile! Ha! Who am I kidding!

Oh! And, lastnight I thought I felt my first tummy flutters, called "quickening" but I wont know for sure until it happens more often. But, it really made me excited!!

Well, guess I should get some work done now! Til' next time! ;)
